| Marrero Padilla, Ramon - A 28-year-old Bethlehem man was shot to death in a car early yesterday while leaving the parking lot of the Bethlehem Bus Terminal on Brodhead Avenue. Ramon Marrero of 1965 Gatewood Lane was pronounced dead of a single gunshot wound to the chest shortly before 6 am in the 300 block of Brodhead Avenue, where the car he had been driving finally came to rest. He was employed by Bethlehem Steel Corp. until 1982, when he was laid off. District Magistrate James Stocklas yesterday issued an arrest warrant on criminal homicide for Edward Ball, 23, whose last known address was 435 Pawnee St., Bethlehem. Bethlehem police are searching for Ball, who they said also is known as ''Sab King'' and ''Sakim.'' Ball is described as a black male, 5 feet 8 inches tall with short black hair. Northampton County Assistant Dist. Atty. James Connell, who is assisting police in their investigation, said witnesses told investigators the suspect shot Marrero at 4:30 am after the 2 had an argument. Connell said he could not release any more information until he meets with Bethlehem Police Commissioner John DiDonato this morning. Northampton County Coroner Joseph Reichel, who ruled Marrero's death a homicide, said the suspect shot Marrero through the glass of the driver-side window, hitting him in the chest. Reichel said the car, which he described as a blue ''American Motors product,'' was heading out of the bus terminal parking lot on to Brodhead Avenue when Marrero was shot. He said the car had to be stopped by a woman who was riding in the car with Marrero. The car came to rest across Brodhead Avenue in front of Mike's Auto Glass store. Reichel said Marrero was shot either with a .38 or .357 caliber handgun. An autopsy was performed yesterday at Muhlenberg Medical Center by forensic pathologist Dr. Isidore Mihalakis. Residents on Graham Place, which runs next to the bus station parking lot, said that groups of people often gather in the lot after the terminal closes. A man, sitting on his porch yesterday afternoon, said he didn't hear any gunfire but said he saw police later roping off the parking lot, chalking off sections of macadam and looking through trash cans. A bus terminal worker said he got off work at 8 pm Saturday and drove by the station at 3:30 am yesterday and saw 6 or 7 people in the parking lot. The homicide occurred just a week after a group of South Bethlehem residents who complained of crime in their neighborhoods organized themselves into crime watch groups. The residents made their complaints public after more than 20 cars were vandalized on East 4th Street during the Memorial Day weekend. Born in Corozal, PR, Marrero was a son of Eugenio Marrero of Corozal and Concepcion (Padilla) Marrero of Bethlehem. Marrero was a member of Holy Infancy Catholic Church, Bethlehem. Surviving with his parents are 7 brothers, Miguel, Eugenio Jr. and Abraham, all of PR, and Ernesto, Antonio, Angel and Jose, all of Bethlehem; 4 sisters, Myrna and Carmen, both of PR, and Emma and Mrs. Angelica Negron, both of Bethlehem.
