Baerga, Jose, Sr. of Elmwood Drive, Goshen, a retired linotypist for the NY Times and a longtime resident of Goshen, died Thursday, Dec. 7, at Arden Hill Hospital Goshen. He was 89. The son of the late Jose and Maria Espada Baerga, he was born Feb. 9, 1900, in Coamo, PR. He was the widower of Adolfina Hubert Baerga and a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Goshen. Survivors include a son, Luis G. Baerga of Goshen; a daughter, Lucy M. Bonilla of New Rochelle; a brother, Jose G. Baerga of the Bronx; 3 grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Baez, Angela (Baez), 71, of 27 Bancroft St. died Thursday in City Hospital after being stricken ill at home. Baez, Luz Maria, 51, died of natural causes Friday at 7:35 a.m. in her residence at 729 Pear St. She was the wife of Victor Baez. Her first husband Angel Manuel Cruz Sr., died Jan 17, 1990. Born in PR, she was a daughter of the late Santo Olivo and Rosa Maria Marin. Baez was a member of Move By Faith Church, Reading. She is survived by 2 sons, Edwin Cruz and Danny Cruz, both of Reading; and 2 daughters, Vicky Acevedo and Debbie Martinez, both of Reading. Berrios Diaz, Juanita, 79, of Mariners Harbor, a former day care worker and caterer, died Wednesday in Staten Island University Hospital, Ocean Breeze. Born in PR, she moved to the Bronx in 1921, to Port Richmond in 1968 and settled in Mariners Harbor in 1978. She had been a resident of Clove Lakes Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, Castleton Corners, since last January. Mrs. Berrios-Diaz ran her own day care business until 1959, when she started her own catering business, Juanita's Catering. She retired in 1980. Mrs. Berrios-Diaz was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption R.C. Church, Port Richmond. She was very politically active while living in the Bronx and later immersed herself in studying the Bible and theology."She was an excellent mother, grandmother and friend," said her daughter, Cecilia Tacaronte. Borrero de Albarran, Juana, 84, of Puerto Rico passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2001 at the Pebblebrook Nursing Home, Lake Bluff, IL. She had been a resident of Waukegan since 1995. She was born in Adjuntas, PR on Nov 10, 1916. She married her beloved husband, Felicito Albarran Cruz on July 31, 1937. He preceded her in death on July 31, 1995. Bravo Maldonado, Angela -- Angela Jefferies, 25, of Virginia Beach, died on July 27, 2001, in Virginia Beach General Hospital. Angela was a daughter, a sister and a friend whose heart brought only joy to those who knew her and peace to those who were in trouble. Born in Mayagüez, PR, and was an administrative assistant. She attended Calvary Chapel of Hampton Roads. Angela was a member of the Flex Gym in Virginia Beach and had won first place in the N.P.C. Virginia State Championship competition on July 7th of this year and won second place in the National Body Rock Monica Brant Fitness Championship on July 14th of this year.
