El 17 de diciembre de 1923 se reúnen los líderes
huelguistas Pelayo Roman Benitez,
Felix Ochoteco, Isaias
M. Crespo, Wilson P. Colberg, Alfonso Paniagua y Mario Polanco, debajo de
un árbol de goma dentro de los predios de la Universidad de Puerto Rico y
fundan la Fraternidad Phi Eta Mu. Se fundo
con el propósito de otorgarse protección y fidelidad mutua ante la
represión de las autoridades universitarias. |

On 17 December 1923, striker
leaders Pelayo
Roman Benitez, Felix Ochoteco, Isaiah M. Crespo, P. Wilson Colberg,
Alfonso Paniagua and Mario Polanco, meet
under a gum tree in the grounds of the University of Puerto Rico and
founded the Eta Phi Mu Fraternity. With the objective of granting
each other protection and mutual fidelity because of the repression by the
university authorities against them. |
