Asilo de Locos [Manicomio] en Oahu Palama en la calle Escuela y la calle Lankila Foto circa 1890' s Abierto en Kapālama en 1866, serviendo a pacientes psiquiátricos de largo plazo. La legislatura del reino hawaiano votó para establecer el hospital en 1862. Cuatro años más tarde, trasladaron a seis pacientes mentalmente de la prisión al asilo. En 1930 el hospital se mudo de Honolulu al lado de Windward. La siguiente lista fue extraída del censo de 1910 y refleja a los puertorriqueños que estaban en este asilo. |
Oahu Insane Asylum Palama on school street and Lankila street Photo circa 1890's Opened in Kapālama in 1866, served long-term psychiatric patients. The legislature of the Hawaiian kingdom voted to establish the hospital in 1862. Four years later, six mentally afflicted patients were removed from the prison to the asylum. In 1930 the hospital moved from Honolulu to the Windward side. Following list was extracted from the 1910 census and it reflects Puerto Ricans staying at this asylum. |
